This is, probably, the easiest sweet treat ever. There’s no chocolate in these things, but “truffles” sound so much more interesting than “balls”, so I decided to name them that. My apologies, if I confused and disappointed anyone. They are… Continue reading →
These are very tasty cookies – buttery, sweet, crumbly, with a distinct coconut flavour and a hint of lemon in the filling. They are sort of a cross between jam tarts, sugar cookies, and crumbles. I spotted the idea in… Continue reading →
These are super easy and quickly-done (provided you’ve made the puff pastry in advance or bought it) cookies that go well with ice-cream and fruit salad.
After all fancy holiday cooking and baking, and overindulging (pigging-out is actually the word), I crave simple things. These are as good as it gets. Freshly baked, they have a great texture – crispy outside and chewy interior. The following… Continue reading →
Here I am speeding up the baking process. These two different in taste biscotti are made from one chocolate dough.
I intended to post before holidays, but with the Easter marathon of the Russian kulich-baking, pascha-making, and egg-dying I simply couldn’t find time. I hope you all had wonderful holidays. This cake is for serious coconut lovers, since it has… Continue reading →
I’ll better start with some explanations. I haven’t abandoned my blogging, although it might recently seem like that. I am sort of on a maternity leave taking care of my new baby girl – a 10 week old Doberman puppy…. Continue reading →
I had almost started making these when I realized I was out of praline paste. I did want the frosting to be caramel, but I didn’t have neither intention nor time for making praline at that moment. Instead, I quickly… Continue reading →
As easy as it gets – lightened by whipped cream fresh mango puree with blueberries and crushed coconut meringue folded in. Without taking into the account the meringue cookies (which are good on their own, not just as an addition… Continue reading →
This month’s Daring Bakers’ challenge was like a dream come true. I’d been thinking about and planning to learn how to stretch real strudel dough for years. But it always seemed quite time consuming and a bit intimidating. With phyllo… Continue reading →
I bake with coconut often. This is the only nut my kid can eat. And besides, I like the taste. For these financiers I went with good quality dry papaya and pineapple as a topping, the ones that can be… Continue reading →
I went to our grocery market a couple of days ago searching for some nice berries (everyone seems to be blogging about such wonderful strawberries; I developed a strong craving). But the berries were very much so-so (it’s not the… Continue reading →
And here’s another cookie. I hope you are not tired of them. Christmas is not too far, and I’ve been trying new and revising old favorite recipes preparing to a big give-away baking. So far, there are about two dozens… Continue reading →
I posted the recipe of these cookies quite a while ago. But since then I’ve got a really pretty bowl to serve them. So, here they are – new photos of my old favorite cookies. Pineapple Coconut Cookies recipe…
I like marshmallows. But I don’t eat the store bought variety. Once, being incautiously curious, I read the list of ingredients on a marshmallow package… I’ve been making them ever since. And they are not difficult to make. If you… Continue reading →
These are sooooo good! They are actually among my favorite cookies and I have to admit I’m quite picky… The cookies are easy to prepare but they are the best the day they are baked. This way they are crispy… Continue reading →
This is probably my favorite pound cake and I baked them and ate them a lot… The cake is moist and very fragrant. It’s absolutely fantastic served with sour cream ice cream and warm raw sugar sauce. It freezes beautifully.
